I was working 1 day a week in this group home while I am in school and transitioning careers. I hated this manager, but it was a nice and easy weekend shift with decent pay. I am your dream staff for a house like this; I used to be a group home manager years ago, I show up on time, do all my paperwork correctly, and have a fantastic relationship with the guys who live in the home.

I had already given up my regular shift and worked my last one on Sunday, but I was planning on coming back after I finish my internship at the end of the summer while I search for jobs in my new field. Not because I needed to, but because it would be convenient and easy/pleasant working with the residents of the home.

I put up with a lot of annoying from this boss, these kinds of group texts were the norm. It felt good to tell her off once I no longer needed the shifts.

Please don't misunderstand one thing: I have no complaints about doing any of the things I needed to, including cleaning up after someone when they have an accident. I did it all with a smile and went on to make a nice breakfast and we all had a nice day. What I will not stand for is forgetting to put the lid on the do all of that. It is a matter of deserve better than this. group texts about tide pods when I respect, and we all

CharmyLah OP • 15h Stupid managers always think that group texts are a great place to berate employees, but if you talk back, suddenly the conversation should be private. , you chose the forum!

Stevenstorm505 - 11h When I worked at Jimmy Johns they basically stopped doing mass texts for because we kept calling out a manager every time they did this. They would berate us, we would call them out on it, they said some variation of I'll talk you about this in private, and we'd say no, you found it acceptable to start this discussion in a disrespectful way in a public forum and that's how the conversation will continue. The manager ended up getting fired later for assaulting 2 separate empl

YomiKuzuki • 13h 00 "I will address this with you in private." Lol, no you won't. We'll hash it out here, in the public mass text that you started. If you wanted to have this addressed in private, you should've gone to everyone privately and asked about it. If you refuse to talk about it in public, we have nothing to talk about in private.

CharmyLah OP.15h I have no idea. Nobody who lives at the house has the inclination to even go in the basement unsupervised, nevermind a history of eating non- food objects.

Bong_Chonk • 12h I always love when they run away to the "well have this conversation in private" line when THEY chose to make it a group conversation in the first place. If you have a grievance with me, you take it to me...not the group and then try to play the "well take this offline" card

esportairbud. 12h Communist Direct care aides are not paid nearly enough. In my state the private agencies pay like 17 bucks an hour (min is 15). To have some pedant boss breathing down your neck on top of everything else it's just too much.

SWIM270 5h One of the most satisfying moments in a career is when you are ready and capable of telling your toxic boss to off.. and actually doing it. It feels outrageously good. Happy for OP. Congratulations
